One performance in a movie about country music "Country Strong" has been clipped. An exclusive courtesy of Moviefone, it shares a preview to a scene where Garrett Hedlund's Beau Hutton asks Leighton Meester's Chiles Stanton to join him to sing on stage. After initially looking surprised and nervous, she finally performs a duet of "Give In to Me" with Hutton.
The movie will follow young rising singer-songwriter Hutton who becomes involved with a fallen country singer played by Gwyneth Paltrow. Together, they mount his ascent and her comeback, which leads to romantic complications involving her husband/manager (Tim McGraw) and a beauty queen-turned-singer (Meester).
While Hedlund, Meester as well as Paltrow will show off their singing skills in the movie, real-life country music singer McGraw will not be seen performing on screen. Directed and written by Shana Feste, "Country Strong" will open in limited U.S. theaters on December 22 before expanding on January 7, 2011.
