Nicole Richie's TV Show Is Back on The Headline

Nicole Richie's TV Show Is Back on The Headline
Nicole Richie

Almost a year since it was first reported, 's TV show is back on the headline. The former reality star pitched an idea of a half-hour comedy about a "professional woman with complicated family relationships" but the project went stale for a year before ABC closes a new deal this month.

Deadline said ABC is moving on with the single-camera comedy and has assigned Jeff Rake ("Miss Match") to write the script. The original writer was Daisy Gardner ("") under the supervision of Warren Bell. The Alphabet however retains Jamie Tarses' Fanfare and Sony TV as the producers. Together with Rakes, Tarses would be the executive producers.

Since Richie came up with the idea of the show, she would be credited as the producer along with her manager Michael Baum. No release date has been announced yet.

Richie shared a bit about her idea of the show in a blog post last year, writing "Lately, I have been surrounded by many different women of all ages and walks of life. It amazes me to watch and observe how many different ideas there are about what a woman's role should be in this era. I've taken these fascinating ideas, and compiled them into something that I think will be very special (and funny!)."
