'The Social Network' Is Making Friends All over The Board

"" is making friends all over the board - David Fincher's hit movie has landed the Best Film and Best Director titles from the New York Film Critics Circle.

The drama, chronicling the invention of Facebook.com and starring , has already been hailed as the picture of the year from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, the National Board of Review and the New York Film Critics Online, and now it's garnered the same acclaim from the New York Film Critics Circle.

's portrayal of King George VI in "" also received high praise, earning the Brit Best Actor, while scored the Best Actress prize for "". The family drama also won awards for (Best Supporting Actor) and Best Screenplay for Lisa Cholodenko and Stuart Blumberg.

was named Best Supporting Actress for her role in 's upcoming boxing biopic "" and "" took Best Animated Film. Hotly-tipped Oscar favorite "The Black Swan" only garnered one honor - for Best Cinematography.

The New York Film Critics Circle's top picks are considered to be among the best indicators in the run up to the Academy Awards. The honors will be presented during a ceremony in New York on January 10.
